Day 72 to Day 77 - Old Memories and the Big 7-0-0!

Tuesday June 19th
Sam's AT Mileage Tracker: Day 72 - Mile Marker 656.1 to 668.5 to reach War Spur Shelter

Napkin had to go back north today, so she left Reflex at the same spot that Reflex and the Tech guys attempted to do a few years back.  Turns out all of our complaining wasn't for nothing- Reflex thought it was quite a tough section even for her seasoned legs!  No wonder!

There she goes!

Some shots along the way.

A feathery companion Reflex met on the Trail!

Wednesday June 20th
Sam's AT Mileage Tracker: Day 73 - Mile Marker 668.5 to 686.7 to reach Niday Shelter

A Keefer Oak

The biggest Cairn Reflex has seen after one of the steepest no-view mountains in a long time.  At least there was *some* sort of reward!

DOUBLE toilet tree (for your convenience, cuts wait times in half!)

Thursday June 21st
Sam's AT Mileage Tracker: Day 74 - Mile Marker 686.7 to 696.8 to reach Pickle Branch Shelter

Turtle on the trail.  Weird thing about these guys were that they were up the mountain, not near each other or any water sources.  Hope they made it okay!

Friday June 22nd
Sam's AT Mileage Tracker: Day 75 - Mile Marker 696.8 to 711.4 to reach Catawba Mountain Shelter

700 miles down!   :)

The big view of the day was on Dragons Tooth... Wow!  Of course Reflex is on the edge.  :)

Spiders and webs everywhere!  Stranger and Reflex believe this visitor was the reason that there were no mice or bugs in the shelter that night...

Saturday June 23rd
Sam's AT Mileage Tracker: Day 76 - Mile Marker 711.4 to 719.8 to reach Lamberts Meadow Shelter

McAfee's Knob... some views were just meant to be (Tech note: this was the same view we had with Reflex when we hiked in the area several years previously)

It tried to clear up, and the view from Tinker Cliffs later that day was gorgeous!!

Sunday June 24th
Sam's AT Mileage Tracker: Day 77 - Mile Marker 719.8 to 729.2 to reach Daleville

Love is everywhere!  :D

Just us, passing our good friend the "Ghost Hiker"..  Have a good hike!

Resting the feet in Daleville after all the wet weather.  Why not more wet in the pool?!

  1. How did your mom get her nickname ? It look like you see a lots of wildlife . It a wonder you see two turtle, because there so fast ha ha . That look like one big spider you had in your shelter. If your not sitting on the side of the mountain, your standing on the peak you have no fear. As always you take great pictures. Be safe and have fun.
